Influence of Silica Nanolayers on the Water Diffusion through the PMMA/Layered Silicate Nanocomposites

Abstract
In this work, sorption process of water in poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and its nanocomposites with Cloisite 30B and Cloisite 15A (PMMA/C30B and PMMA/C15A) was investigated using ATR-FTIR method. This technique is an experimental method that measures liquid sorption kinetics in situ. In addition to the sorption kinetics, a spectroscopic technique also gives information regarding the molecular state of the penetrant at various times in the diffusional process. Calculated diffusion coefficient of samples was 3.35×10-8
, 3.15×10-9
and 1.79×10-9
cm2
/s for PMMA, PMMA/C15A and PMMA/C30B respectively. The decrease in the diffusivity of nanocomposites is related to the fact that penetrant molecules have to circumvent the silicate nanolayers and thus 'travel' a much longer distance through nanocomposites than through a neat polymer. X-ray and DSC analysis showed that the structure of PMMA/C15A and PMMA/C30B are intercalated and exfoliated respectively. Due to the more dispersion of nanoclays in exfoliated structure and creating more tortuous path, the decrease in the diffusivity of PMMA/C30B was higher than PMMA/C15A.

Novel Method Synthesizing Colloidal Silver Nano Particles Using Lecithin

Abstract Silver nanoparticles were synthesized and stabilized by a simple and environment friendly method in a nanoliposomes structure. Nanoliposomes were prepared by facing lecithin to the aqueous phase solutions while stirring vigorously. In this method, the lecithin concentration to silver nitrate ratio (KLec/Ag = [Lecithin]/ [AgNO3]) is the influencing factor in synthesis of silver nanoparticles. The influence of the factor on the stability, size distribution, and antibacterial properties of synthesized silver nanoparticles were studied by UV-visible, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and antibacterial assay. The UV spectra indicated a single symmetric extinction peak at 400 nm confirming spherical shape of the synthesized silver nanoparticles. A high KLec/Ag value leads to reducing the intensity of extinction spectra and size of Ag-liposomes nanoparticles. The stabilized silver nanoparticle with various lecithin concentrations showed a good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus a gram positive bacterium and Eschericia coli a gram negative bacterium.

ﭼﻜﻴﺪه
در اﻳﻦ ﺗﺤﻘﻴﻖ اﺛﺮ ﺧﻮد ﺗﻤﻴﺰ ﺷﻮﻧﺪﮔﻲ اﻟﻴﺎف ﭘﺸﻤﻲ رﻧﮕﺮزی ﺷﺪه ﺑﺎ رﻧﮕﺰای ﻃﺒﻴﻌﻲ روﻧﺎس و ﻋﻤـﻞ ﺷـﺪه ﺑـﺎ ﻧـﺎﻧﻮ ذی 4 اﻛﺴﻴﺪ ﺗﻴﺘﺎﻧﻴﻢ ﻣﻮرد ﺑﺮرﺳﻲ ﻗﺮار ﮔﺮﻓﺘﻪ اﺳﺖ . ﺑﺪﻳﻦ ﻣﻨﻈﻮر اﺑﺘﺪا ﭘﺎرﭼـﻪ ﭘﺸـﻤﻲ ﺘﺷﺴ ﺸـﻮ ﺷـ ﺪه و ﺳـﭙﺲ ﺑـﺎ KMnOاﻛﺴﻴﺪ ﺷﺪه اﺳﺖ. ﺑﺮای رﻧﮕﺒﺮی ﺑﻘﺎﻳﺎی اﻛﺴﻴﺪ ﻣﻨﮕﻨﺰ از روی ﭘﺎرﭼﻪ ﭘﺸﻤﻲ از ﻣﺤﻠﻮل ﺑﻲ ﺳﻮﻟﻔﻴﺖ ﺳﺪﻳﻢ اﺳﺘﻔﺎده ﺷﺪه اﺳﺖ. در اداﻣﻪ ﭘﺎرﭼﻪ ﭘﺸﻤﻲ ﺑﺎ زاج ﺳﻔﻴﺪ دﻧﺪاﻧﻪ و هﺷﺪ ﺑﻪ وﺳﻴﻠﻪ ﺣﻤﺎم آﻟﺘﺮاﺳﻮﻧﻴﻚ ﺑﺎ روﻧﺎس و درﺻـﺪ ﻫـﺎی ﻣﺨﺘﻠـﻒ TiO ﻧﺎﻧﻮ 2( 5 % ، 1 و % 20 )% رﻧﮕﺮزی و ﺗﻜﻤﻴﻞ ﺷﺪه اﺳﺖ. ﻧﻤﻮﻧﻪ ﻫﺎی ﻋﻤﻞ ﺷﺪه ﺑﺎ اﺳﺘﻔﺎده از ﻣﺘﻴﻠﻦ ﺑﻠﻮ آﻏﺸـﺘﻪ ﺳـﺎزی
TiO2 ﺑﺮ ﺧﻮد ﺗﻤﻴﺰ ﺷﻮﻧﺪﮔﻲ ﻛﺎﻻ ﻣﻮرد ﺑﺮرﺳـﻲ ﺷﺪه و ﺳﭙﺲ ﺗﻤﺎﻣﻲ ﻧﻤﻮﻧﻪ ﻫﺎ در زﻳﺮ ﻧﻮر UV ﻗﺮار ﮔﺮﻓﺘﻪ اﻧﺪ ﺗﺎ اﺛﺮ ﻧﺎﻧﻮ ﻗﺮار ﮔﻴﺮد. در اﻧﺘﻬﺎ ﺧﻮاص ﻛﺎﻻی رﻧﮕﺮزی ﺷﺪه ﺑﺎ ﻣﻮﻟﻔﻪ ﻫﺎی رﻧﮕﻲ ﻣﻮرد ﺑﺮرﺳﻲ ﻗﺮار ﮔﺮﻓﺘﻪ اﺳﺖ. ﻧﺘﺎﻳﺞ ﺑﺪﺳـﺖ آﻣـﺪه ﺟﺬب روﻧﺎس ﻛﻤﺘﺮ ﺷﺪه و ﻗﺮﻣﺰی آن ﻛﻢ ﻣﻲ ﺷﻮد ﻧﺸﺎن ﻣﻲ دﻫﻨﺪ ﻛﻪ ﺑﺎ اﻓﺰاﻳﺶ ﻣﻘﺪار ﻧﺎﻧﻮ TiO. در ﺗﻤﺎﻣﻲ ﻧﻤﻮﻧـﻪ ﻫـﺎ در اﺛﺮ ﻧﻮر UV ﻣﻘﺪار رﻧﮓ روی ﻛﺎﻻ ﻛﺎﻫﺶ ﻣﻲ ﻳﺎﺑﺪ . در ﻣﻘﺎﻳﺴﻪ ﻣﻮﻟﻔﻪ ﻫﺎی رﻧﮕﻲ ﭘﺎرﭼﻪ ﻟﻜﻪ ﮔﺬاریﺷﺪه ﺑﺎ ﻣﺘﻴﻠﻦ ﺑﻠﻮ TiO2 ﺗﺎﺛﻴﺮ ﻣﺴﺘﻘﻴﻢ روی ﺧﻮد ﺗﻤﻴﺰ ﺷﻮﻧﺪﮔﻲ ﭘﺎرﭼﻪ ﭘﺸﻤﻲ دار .د ﻧﺘﺎﻳﺞ ﺛﺒﺎت ﻧﻮری و ﺷﺴﺘﺸـﻮﻳﻲ

Influence of Compatibilizer and Processing Conditions on the Dispersion of Nanoclay in a Fiber-Forming Polypropylene Matrix

Abstract
Polypropylene (PP)/Montmorillonite (MMT) nanoclay based composite was prepared by melt compounding with maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MA-g-PP) in a twin screw extruder and an internal mixer. Test specimens were prepared by compression molding. Mechanical properties such as tensile modulus, tensile strength and maximum percent strain were measured. The clay dispersion was investigated using wide angle X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The XRD patterns and SEM images show that introducing the proper compatibilizing agent ratio and
suitable processing condition like a twin screw extruder decrease the immiscible clay component in the matrix. However, the increase of tensile strength is not achieved. Keywords: polypropylene, montmorilloinite, nanoclay, dispersion, processing conditions.

ﭼﻜﻴﺪه
ﻧﺎﻧﻮ اﻟﻴﺎف ﺿﺪ ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی ﺳﻠﻮﻟﺰ اﺳﺘﺎت، ﺑﺎ اﻟﻜﺘﺮورﻳﺴﻲ ﻣﺴﺘﻘﻴﻢ ﻣﺤﻠﻮل ﺳﻠﻮﻟﺰ اﺳﺘﺎت ﺣﺎوی ﻣﻘﺪار ﻛﻤﻲ ﻧﺎﻧﻮ ذرات ﻧﻘﺮه M r ﺗﻬﻴﻪ ﺷﺪ. در اﻳﻦ ﺗﺤﻘﻴﻖ ﻧﺎﻧﻮ اﻟﻴﺎف ﺿﺪ ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی از اﻟﻜﺘﺮورﻳﺴﻲ ﻣﺤﻠﻮل 17 % wt ﺳﻠﻮﻟﺰ اﺳﺘﺎت (37000 ~ﻣﺤﺘﻮی40% ﮔﺮوه اﺳﺘﻴﻞ ) در ﺣﻼﻟﻲ ﻣﺨﻠﻮط از اﺳﺘﻴﻚ اﺳﻴﺪ/ آب (30/70)، ﺣﺎوی ﻣﻘﺎدﻳﺮ ﻣﺘﻔﺎوت ﻧﺎﻧﻮ ذرات ﻧﻘﺮه (ﻧﺴﺒﺖ ﺑﻪ وزن ﭘﻠﻴﻤﺮ) ﺗﻮﻟﻴﺪ ﺷﺪ. ﻗﻄﺮ اﻟﻴﺎف ﺣﺎﺻﻞ ﺑﺎ ﺗﻮﺟﻪ ﺑﻪ ﻧﺴﺒﺖ ﺣﻼل و درﺻﺪ ﺳﻠﻮﻟﺰ اﺳﺘﺎت و ﺷﺮاﻳﻂ اﻟﻜﺘﺮورﻳﺴﻲ ﻣﺘﻐﻴﺮ ﺑﻮد. ﻓﻌﺎﻟﻴﺖ ﺿﺪ ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف در ﺑﺮاﺑﺮ ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی ﮔﺮم - ﻣﺜﺒﺖ Staphylococcus epidermidis و ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی ﮔﺮم - ﻣﻨﻔﻲ Escherichia coli ﻣﻮرد آزﻣﺎﻳﺶ ﻗﺮار ﮔﺮﻓﺖ. ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﺣﺎوی ﻧﺎﻧﻮ ﻧﻘﺮه ﻓﻌﺎﻟﻴﺖ ﺿﺪ ﺑﺎﻛﺘﺮی ﺑﺴﻴﺎر ﺧﻮﺑﻲ ﻧﺸﺎن داد .

ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻛﻴﺘﻮﺳﺎن ﺗﻮﺳﻂ اﻟﻜﺘﺮورﻳﺴﻲ ﻣﺤﻠﻮل ﻛﻴﺘﻮﺳﺎن ﺑﺎ درﺟﻪ اﺳﺘﻴﻠﻪ ﺷﺪن Mw=500 KDa %) 85 ) ﻣﺨﻠﻮط ﭘﻠﻲوﻳﻨﻴﻞ اﻟﻜﻞ ( Mw=94-120 KDa ) در ﺣﻼل اﺳﺘﻴﻚ اﺳﻴﺪ 2% ﺣﺠﻤﻲ ﺗﻬﻴﻪ ﺷﺪ. وبﻫﺎی ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎﻓﻲ ﻳﻜﻨﻮاﺧﺖ در ﺷﺮاﻳﻂ ﺑﻬﻴﻨﻪ ﺑﻪ دﺳﺖ آﻣﺪ: ﻏﻠﻈﺖ 8% ﭘﻠﻴﻤﺮ در ﻣﺤﻠﻮل اﺳﺘﻴﻚ اﺳﻴﺪ 2% ﺣﺠﻤﻲ، ﺑﺎ ﻧﺴﺒﺖﻫﺎی ﺟﺮﻣﻲ 75/25،  .ﮔﺮﻓﺖ ﻗﺮار ﺑﺮرﺳﻲ ﻣﻮرد اﻟﻜﻞ ﭘﻠﻲوﻳﻨﻴﻞ /ﻛﻴﺘﻮﺳﺎن ﭘﻠﻴﻤﺮ دو از 30/70 و 40/60 ،50/50 ،60/40 ،65/35 ،70/30ﺗﺎﺛﻴﺮ ﻧﺴﺒﺖ ﻣﺨﻠﻮطﻫﺎ ﺑﺮ روی ﺗﺸﻜﻴﻞ اﻟﻴﺎف و ﻣﻮرﻓﻮﻟﻮژی آﻧﻬﺎ ﺗﻮﺳﻂ ﻧﺘﺎﻳﺞ SEM ﺑﺮرﺳﻲ ﺷﺪ. ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻇﺮﻳﻒ ﺑﺎ ﺳﺎﺧﺘﺎر ﺑﺪون داﻧﻪﻫﺎی ﺗﺴﺒﻴﺢ ﻣﺎﻧﻨﺪ و ﻛﻴﻔﻴﺖ ﻣﻄﻠﻮب ﺑﺎ اﺳﺘﻔﺎده از ﻣﺤﻠﻮل ﭘﻠﻴﻤﺮی ﺑﺎ ﻧﺴﺒﺖ 40 ﺑﻪ 60 ﻛﻴﺘﻮﺳﺎن/

ﻫﺪف اﺻﻠﻲ اﻳﻦ ﭘﮋوﻫﺶ،ﭘﻴﺪا ﻛﺮدن ﺣﻼل ﻣﻨﺎﺳﺐ ﺑﺮای ﺗﻮﻟﻴﺪ ﻧﺦ ﺣﺎﺻﻞ از ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻧﺎﻳﻠﻮن 66 در ﻃﻲ ﻓﺮاﻳﻨﺪ اﻟﻜﺘﺮورﻳﺴﻲ اﺳﺖ. در اﻳﻦ روش ﺗﻮﻟﻴﺪ ﻧﺦ از دو ﻧﻮع ﭘﻠﻴﻤﺮ اﺗﻮﻛﻼو و ssp ﻧﺎﻳﻠﻮن 66، در ﺷﺮاﻳﻂ ﻣﺘﻔﺎوﺗﻲ از ﺳﻴﺴﺘﻢ ﺣﻼل، ﺑﺮرﺳﻲ ﺷﺪ . ﻧﺘﺎﻳﺞ ﻧﺸﺎن داد ﻛﻪ اﺳﺘﻔﺎده از ﻣﺨﻠﻮط ﺣﻼل اﺳﻴﺪ ﻓﺮﻣﻴﻚ و ﻛﻠﺮوﻓﺮم ﺑﻪ ﺟﺎی اﺳﺘﻔﺪه از اﺳﻴﺪﻓﺮﻣﻴﻚ ﺧﺎﻟﺺ،ﺑﺎﻋﺚ اﻓﺰاﻳﺶ ﭼﺸﻢ ﮔﻴﺮی در ﻗﻄﺮ ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻣﻲﺷﻮد و در ﻧﺘﻴﺠﻪ اﺳﺘﺤﻜﺎم ﻧﺦ ﺣﺎﺻﻠﻪ ﻛﺎﻫﺶ ﻣﻲﻳﺎﺑﺪ. ﺑﻨﺎﺑﺮاﻳﻦ در ﺗﻮﻟﻴﺪ ﻧﺦ ﺣﺎﺻﻞ از ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻧﺎﻳﻠﻮن66 اﺗﻮﻛﻼو اﺳﺘﻔﺎده از ﻣﺨﻠﻮط ﺣﻼﻟﻬﺎی اﺳﻴﺮﻓﺮﻣﻴﻚ و ﻛﻠﺮوﻓﺮم ﺗﻮ ﺻﻴﻪ ﻧﻤﻲﮔﺮدد. در ﺗﻮﻟﻴﺪ ﻧﺦ ﺣﺎﺻﻞ از ﻧﺎﻧﻮاﻟﻴﺎف ﻧﺎﻳﻠﻮن ssp 66 ﺑﻪ دﻟﻴﻞ اﻓﺰاﻳﺶ ﻣﺪول، در ﻣﻮارد ﻣﻮرد ﻧﻴﺎز اﺳﺘﻔﺎده از ﻣﺨﻠﻮط ﺣﻼل ﺗﻮﺻﻴﻪ ﻣﻲ .ﺷﻮد
