The ability of natural dyes to color textiles has been known since ancient times. Wool is one of the fibers which have been dyed with natural dyes for several years. The goal of this research is dyeing of wool fiber by Red Cabbage as a natural dyestuff. Regarding this matter, wool yarn was dyed by red cabbage in different type of produced dyestuff; powder and juice under different pH and mordant. Copper sulfate, stannous chloride, aluminum sulfate, potassium
dichromate, ferric sulfate, silver nitrate, calcium nitrate were used as mordant. Light and wash fastnesses of samples were tested by standard test methods and Colorimetric parameters of dyed samples were determined .The results
show that change in pH and mordant are important factors in Hue and color fastnesses. Keywords: pH, mordant, wool, Red Cabbage, Natural dye
